The differential deflector control drum provides an alternative to a hydraulic system to control the topmast backstay deflector. The differential design allows for a compact package to be mounted at the mast base but with considerable power and line speed. This ensures easy control of the backstay for sail shape adjustment and can quickly be moved through the full range at the bottom mark.
